About Fortwell
Fortwell was founded on a simple observation: most commercial policies are sold, not built. We do the second thing.

Our story
Fortwell started with two former commercial underwriters who kept seeing the same thing from the carrier desk: businesses buying coverage that looked adequate on the declarations page and failed at the first serious claim.
A decade later we place roughly $180 million in annual premium across logistics, construction, and professional services — and we still read every policy form before it goes to a client.
Our largest practice today serves Amazon Delivery Service Partners, an industry where the insurance requirements are fixed but the pricing outcomes are anything but.
How we work
We hold appointments with more than forty carriers and answer to none of them. Placement follows the risk, not a quota.
Our brokers came from the carrier side. We know how a submission gets priced, which means we know how to present yours.
Every proposal comes with the exclusions written out. If a coverage has a sublimit, you'll hear it from us before you sign.
Brokerage doesn't end at binding. We advocate through adjustment, reserve setting, and the renewal conversation that follows.
Our team
You work with the same brokers from submission through claim. No account hand-offs, no service queue.
Placement & strategy
Former commercial underwriters who structure the submission, choose the markets, and negotiate terms directly with carrier decision-makers.
Service & certificates
Same-day certificates, endorsements, and renewal prep. The team that keeps your contracts moving and your compliance clean.
Claims & risk consulting
Adjuster coordination, reserve review, and post-loss guidance so a claim is resolved on the coverage you actually purchased.
In their words
“They rebuilt our submission before it ever hit the market. Our fleet renewal came back materially lower than the prior year with better limits.”
